Living Parish Life

Orthodox Christianity is about communion with God and, by His grace, growth in holiness. Our primary means of growth in this spiritual process is through our participation in the Sunday worship called the Divine Liturgy.  We also offer other regularly scheduled worship services, such as Vespers and Matins and special services for the Feasts of the Church.

Parish life abounds in a variety of other ongoing activities including charity and outreach efforts, with local, national and international ministries, including an ongoing ministry outreach to our friends in Grundy, Southwestern Virginia. Religious formation is key to our spiritual growth, both through Church school for youth and religious education study groups for adults.

Perhaps one of the most heartening aspects of our parish life is the fellowship time after Sunday Liturgy, where people get to know each other and foster a true spirit of Christian fellowship. Occasionally these fellowship times provide opportunities for special guest speakers or other engaging events.
